About this Event
The St. Patrick's Leprechan Race is the feature event of Springdale's celebration of all things Irish. We start by turning Spring Creek, which flows through Downtown Springdale, a bright shade of green! (The dye we use is not harmful to plants or animals.) You can participate by adopting a Leprechaun for $10. We will drop more than 3,000 Leprechaun Ducks into Spring Creek and cheer them on to the finish line. The winning Leprechaun Duck will win its sponsor $1,000, and the 10 runners-up will win a gift card as a consolation prize!
All proceeds from this event will go to the Springdale Rotary Charitable Foundation Trust, a non-profit organization. Proceeds from the event will fund projects of the Rotary Club of Springdale, including workforce and college scholarships, wheelchairs for people with mobility issues, the Rotary 4-Way Test Speech Contest for Springdale students, a literacy project which provides books for all Springdale third graders, Christmas food bags for all students at Jones Elementary, maintaining our Little Free Libraries, and other projects to benefit the local community. Our most recent large project was Gerald Harp Treehouse Park, part of Rotary Park on 48th Street in Springdale.
