BRIGHTON COUNCIL wants to close the street party on St James street, & move it all to marina parade!
St James street is the beating heart of the Brighton LGBTQ+ community.
The council is already making excuses. They tried a few years ago, to move the PVP to Marina Drive, the community said no. It makes no sence, pride was asked if they could help
And control st James street. To help Control the area, they have done this extremely well & should be applauded for that.
St James street and the front is the unofficial GAY VILLAGE of Brighton, (Trust me I have tried to get this recognised, was shut down!) even tho everyone knows it as !!
All the businesses on and around st James street are being cut off from the PVP party. Due to A hand full of NIMBYS! Some new post covid and the regular hand full of repeats complainers and 1 councillor!
Worst thing is. People will
Still go on this street and uses the many venues on the street. Causing people outside on the road. Drinking BYO and in an uncontrolled environment, where pride had this controlled.
And the council from its recent consultation, wants to open the road to the usual traffic, causing a massive security concern! a real health and safety issue and a disaster to unfold. A weakness to be exploited by terrorists!
So if the council does not retract from this silly decision then we ask you to come and protest on the street. In a friendly manner and close the street as it should be for our own safety. BYO DRINKS & WE WILL HAVE OUR INTENDED LIBERATION PARTY, in our own LGBTQ+ area, recognised by all, world wide, just not BRIGHTON COUNCIL, due to 5 people!!
We will take over the street for our own safty and respect to the venues and businesses that support us 365 days of The year in the LGBTQ area in Brighton! Thats knows world Wide as, but BRIGHTON COUNCIL DOES T WANT TO LABLE IT FOR DARK FORCES IN THE TOP! (We know who they are, but naming them becomes a legal issue) We know who you are! We know!
So watch this space. If they don’t retract, we take over.
So the council doesn’t win.
Better to be controlled that uncontrolled.
