To our Louisville friends! St. James Court Art Show is this coming weekend. Belgravia Court has almost 100 artists. To help make the show a success we depend on our neighbors and friends. Here is the list of volunteer tasks:
Note: The court will provide lunch for all volunteers on Thursday.
Alley Captains - (Thursday all day and Sunday 5pm)
- Direct artist traffic as they queue up to unload and pack up. Guide helpers to artists in need of assistance. Alert Rick to possible issues. You will have a copy of the booth layouts and artist locations.
Alley Helpers - (Thursday all day and Sunday 5pm)
- As our artists are not able to unload at their booth site, they must carry or dolly their equipment from the alley down the sidewalks to their booths. The faster we can get them out of the alley and into their spot, will get their vehicles cleared for the next artist in line. Many artists will welcome help to unload/move their supplies and help set up their tents.
Registration Booth - (Thursday 8 am- 6 pm) Location: registration tent on Hill Street at the 4th Street Alley (aka Doug Nunn)
- Check artists in, hand out artist information packet. Let them know what alley to proceed to and that there will be an alley caption waiting there to give directions for unloading.
Booth Sitters - (Fri, Sat, Sun) Most of our artists come alone and will need someone to booth sit while they take a quick bio-break. You will NOT be responsible for any sales, just let customers know the artist will be returning shortly.
Restroom Access - Many of our residents graciously offer artists access to their restrooms which saves the artists a several block walk to the "lovely" porta potties. Feel free to introduce yourself to the artists in your area and let me also know in case an artist forgets what house you belong to.
Friends and Family - If you know someone who would like to volunteer -or has service hours for school -or is just a community-minded person, give them Rick's contact information.
