The first St Denys Carnival this millennium!26 years after the last carnival in 1999, a group of enthusiastic residents are bringing back the carnival to the streets of St Denys, with visions of local groups building a convoy of environmentally conscious floats using electric & pedal power to navigate the narrow streets. The carnival will encourage groups & individuals to take to the streets with the sights & sounds of events gone by, with a modern and vibrant twist to the original St Denys Carnival.
The carnival will take place at St Denys Community Centre and the nearby New Testament Church of God - both on Priory Road - with (subject to permits) a parade of environmentally friendly floats on the theme of ‘Nature’ winding through the nearby streets between 11:30 and 13:00.
Entertainment of live music and stalls from local small businesses will be located at the community centre and other local venues throughout day from 11:00 to 15:00 and selected local venues will host the after-party from 15:00 til late.
