Captain Zach Mckenna, owner of St. Augustine Eco Tours and researcher/naturalist, and Linda Burek, photographer and Florida Master Naturalist are hosting two birding boat tours for St. Johns Regional Audubon January 8 and January 12, 2026.These tours will give you access to some of the birds who spend the winter in Florida that are best seen from the water.
The boat carries a maximum of 12 guests and is small enough to get close access to many birds but the Captain aims to not disturb them.
Please dress for the weather. It is colder on the water than on land, so bring layers. Bring binoculars if you have them. You are welcome to bring your camera, and Linda will give you tips on taking photos from a boat if interested.
The boat leaves the St. Augustine Municipal Marina promptly at 8:00, so please arrive 15 minutes ahead of time to get checked in. The tour is 90 minutes. These tours are scheduled to depart around low tide when you are likely to see the most birds.
