It's that time of year again! Autumn in NE Florida always brings some spectacularly dynamic conditions to challenge your paddling skills and expand your comfort zone.This popular multi-day event is an excellent opportunity for kayakers of intermediate level or higher to learn how to paddle and lead groups safely in open water, surf, and tidal currents. Topics covered include intermediate strokes, bracing, rolling, surfing, towing, and rescues, as well as navigation, reading conditions, and identifying safe zones. The stellar group of instructors, coming in from all over the country, will work directly with you to help you meet the challenge.
This event is also designed to provide the aspiring sea kayak instructor the opportunity to earn a Level 4 Skills Assessment, Trip Leader Assessment, Instructor Certification, or Update.
Whether you'd like to upgrade your Instructor or Trip Leader certification, or you just want to take your skills to the next level, this event is for you!
RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Cost is $150 per person per day, or $525 for all four days. Group discounts are available. Limited rental equipment and/or kayaks are available on a first-come, first served basis.
Tom Nickels of River Wind Kayak is an American Canoe Association Level 4 Open Water Kayak Instructor Trainer (ACA L4 IT ... he teaches others how to teach kayaking; there are 5 levels).
Mike Kingsley of Evergreen Outfitters is an ACA L4 Instructor and L3 IT.
