The first St. Andrew's ball and supper in the City of Vancouver was held on November 30th 1887 at the McDonough Hall on the south-east corner of Hastings and Columbia Streets and was reported to have been "without question the most brilliant affair in the history of the city". A newspaper report declared there were between 350 and 400 guests present and the City's population then numbered about 1000.
The St. Andrew's & Caledonian Society carries forward this long-standing tradition annually and you are cordially invited to the 2024 evening of music and dancing kilts and sashes pipes and drums fiddles and flutes jigs and reels and dinner and drinks.
Join us in your best formal attire for a dinner reception music by Celtic folk band Blackthorn and Scottish Ceilidh dancing.
