About this Event
STÄSJ is the alter ego of singer, songwriter and performer Stefanie Janssen who is based in Nijmegen. She makes contemporary pop music, varying from a capella to synth ballads with multicoloured beats. STÄSJ combines elements of electro-pop, classical, songwriter, pop-rock and a whiff of magical mystery to a uniquely dreamy and exciting sound.
STÄSJ is supported during live shows by Rosa Ronsdorf playing synths and electronics and Nina de Jong on drums and electronics.
The unmistakable voice of STÄSJ builds a folly without a roof, a place for stargazing. Before she offers you shelter, you travel along through her adventurous, electronic world with innovative melodies and immersive storytelling.
STÄSJ captures the invisible and ungraspable in music and lyrics. She is a mystic with a fighter’s heart, a romantic battling the harshness of reality.
STÄSJ rages, grinds and echoes through the landscape of pop, opera and dance. Her vocals either puts out all the stops or whispers through the meditative subsoil of beats, bass and bleeps. STÄSJ trickles organically through the musical spectrum and decides upon her own laws.
Her new electropop album BUILDING A CATHEDRAL is planned for release on the 30th of March 2024. It adds a new dimension to her varied, sonic cosmos. While change and growth rage and roar, STÄSJ builds a musical edifice supported by poëtic lyrics and ever-expanding beats.
