We look forward to welcoming you to the Romanian Sociologists Society International Conference, Intersections 2024: Structures and Flows. Exploring Multiplexity in Contemporary Sociology (#intersections2024). The conference will take place on October 24 and 25, 2024, in Bucharest, at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Sociology and Social Work (90 – 92 Panduri St., Bucharest, 050663, Romania).
The theme of the SSR 2024 international conference addresses the concept of multiplex sociology, in which the connection of theories and methodologies is accomplished within a horizon of multiple valences. The SSR 2024 conference is organized in memoriam Professor Lazăr Vlăsceanu to honor and acknowledge his significant contributions to the development of sociology as a discipline in Romania.
Keynote addresses will be given by Jan Fuhse (Humboldt University of Berlin), Isidro Maya Jariego (University of Seville), and Raffaele Vacca (University of Milan). Their presentations, focusing on the relational aspect in social research, will highlight the multiplexity of sociology through potential theoretical approaches and quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
The SSR 2024 international conference (#intersections2024) underlines the importance and necessity of connecting various sociological theories and methodologies to more effectively capture the nowadays complex and dynamic social realities.
