SRJC Symph. Band & Jazz Band: EVOLUTION

EVOLUTION is a multimedia concert with SRJC Bands following the ever-changing path of music as it mirrors our human lives! Features video projections & Guest Conductor Brad Hogarth.

Jazz Band explores harmony & rhythm changes in styles such as swing (The Queen Bee), cool jazz (Gerry Mulligan), and modern jazz (Hour of Darkness).

Symphonic Band follows a path of time evolving throughout the day featuring music such as Chasing Sunlight and Dusk. Next we follow evolution in different ways. Everyday items evolving to acquire a spirit of their own in Haunted Objects and social justice evolution through Omar Thomas' 2019 piece A Mother of a Revolution! paying tribute to Martha Johnson.
