Sri Krishna Janmastami – the celebration of the transcendental birthday of Lord Krishna – is fast approaching, and we invite you to come celebrate with us at Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir.
Lord Sri Krishna is the all-attractive Supreme Personality of Godhead, the cause of all causes, both material and spiritual. He is the reservoir of all pleasure, joy and happiness.
This is the day devotees celebrate His appearance in this world and take time to remember their eternal loving relationship with Him and His presence within all of our hearts.
In the Vaishnava shastra known as Hari-bhakti-vilasa (Texts 283-284, 289-292) it is stated:
“By observing Sri Krishna Janmashtami one becomes free from the sinful reactions committed in seven lives. One gets good children, good health, and great wealth…. One will not have to fear enemies and will get sufficient rainfall and never have to suffer from drought. One will not have to fear natural calamities, hellish conditions, snakes, disease, or the attacks of rogues and thieves…”
