Weather might get pretty nasty Wednesday & Wednesday night -- even early Thursday. But the watch is scheduled to end 7am. So if no one's gotten blown away & the power grid is alive & well, we should be good to go well before evening. Hope to see MOST you all Thursday.

ONCE YOU JOIN THE EVENT, (click the "going" button) YOU CAN WATCH FOR NOTIFICATION FROM FB, BUT, IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU HAVE NOT TURNED THEM OFF, MIGHT BE SAFER TO CHECK BACK ABOUT NOON THURSDAY. I TRY TO HAVE IT DECIDED & POST CANCELLATIONS WEDNESDAY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE... I WILL DO MY BEST TO CONTACT EVERY INDIVIDUAL IF AN EMERGENCY ARISES AFTER NOON TO CAUSE A LAST MINUTE CANCELLATION--if we know you are/were planning to come!
BUT if this page is my only contact with you, I have no way to let you know if/when something comes up unless you click the "going" or "interested" buttons below. We NEED that connection to prevent any wasted trips. We HATE to have anyone get out there to a dark locked up building & be disappointed by having missed the cancellation announcement. BUT PLAN ON COMING TO JOIN THE CLASS IN SEPTEMBER! If you DO have prior experience & just need refreshment, contact me & we will talk as to how much prior practice you had how long ago....
All ages are welcomed, but children must be at least school aged to participate & must be accompanied by an adult at all times. If bringing children, ask about our family discount too.
During most of the school year we have
ALTERNATING CLASS & CLUB LEVEL DANCING 7 - 9 pm
Through the summer -- after class' graduation -- it's Mainstream level dancing with alternating Plus level workshops &/or Plus tips.
We try to meet most Thursdays--not Thanksgiving Day & sometimes other holiday cancellations--but weather cancellations can pop up somewhat suddenly. We automatically cancel if Montgomery Co Schools close for that day or send the children home early because of approaching weather conditions. But we also watch for weather problems ourselves--flooding or severe storms expected just before, during or immediately after our meeting times. Want to be sure the roads are safe for everyone. When we need to cancel, we try to do so by noon Thursday--if not sometime Wednesday--and will post it on here just as soon as possible.. A little rain won't stop us, but sometimes too much is too much! Some of our members have to drive through flood prone areas & no one wants to drive through severe storms--especially the ones that bring down trees... So if weather is iffy be sure to check for possible cancellations, If you have not replied to the invite that you plan to attend, you may not receive the notification of cancellation if/when it happens..-SO, PLEASE LET US KNOW YOUR PLANS & CHECK BACK HERE THURSDAY AFTERNOON TO BE SURE WE HAVE NOT HAD TO CHANGE OUR PLANS...
FIRST VISIT IS FREE ! After you give it that free try, returning students pay $5 per person--with family discounts available for those with school aged children wishing to participate too. Club dancers also pay $5 per person for the evening
These funds go to pay rent & hire our caller/instructor.
If you are visiting this page/event for the 1st time & have prior experience with Western Style Square Dancing--maybe you square danced years ago & think you have forgotten it all--contact me & we might be able to work with you without you having to retake classes. But helping with class IS a great way to refresh yourself. A lot depends on how much experience you had "way back when"... If you stopped dancing shortly after completing lessons, you probably haven't retained much of it. But if you danced regularly for several years, there is a good chance you have not forgotten as much as you think you have. Message me & we can discuss your specifics.

WE ARE NOT A CITY / CENTER SPONSORED EVENT -- WE PAY THEM RENT FOR USE OF THEIR BUILDING.
But just like the Center, we require children be accompanied by a parent or other adult guardian at all times--no "drop offs"--it is preferred children be 12 years old, though younger school aged children often take to it like fish to water... We just need to see the child is interested enough to focus their attentions & behave maturely enough to not be a distraction. Typically that is apparent one way or the other during the 1st free lesson. It really is meant to be a great family activity--children, parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles--bring the whole family out & give it a try!
Our fees are just $5 per person AND remember, family discounts are available. We are not in this to make any money—just trying to pay bills—our real motivation is to HAVE FUN!
The public is always welcomed to come & watch--free of charge--if you like what you see, you can give us contact info & we will let you know the next time we are getting ready to start a new class. Generally classes start each Fall.
We also do some line dancing during breaks in square dancing & those are taught "on the spot" so visitors are able to participate ("get your feet wet)" with the lines at least, any time of year...
