Tell your kinfolk and friends to come enjoy a lively evening of fiddle music and community dance, rooted in Southern Appalachian traditions. With a focus on joy and togetherness, our gender-neutral roles (leads/follows) and welcoming atmosphere make it easy for solo attendees to join in and find partners.
Dan Wally Lang will be calling the dances, guiding everyone through the steps in a fun and easygoing way. If you’re new to square dancing or just want a refresher, arrive at 7pm for a slower introduction to moves like the dosido and partner swing. Please wear non-marking, non-sticking shoes.
Square Dance NOLA hosted beginner-friendly dances for seven years (2013-2020) and is excited to get back in action. Whether you’re experienced or brand new, come share in the tradition, community, and live music that make these dances fun.
