We invite you to join us on April 16th at 7:00 pm, for a Spy Wednesday Tenebrae service.The service of Tenebrae, meaning "darkness" or "shadows", is an ancient practice that focuses on the sufferings of Christ. Readings, music, and the power of silence and darkness trace the story of Christ's passion and suggest the drama of that momentous day. During the service candles or lights are extinguished and as we walk through the service we will ponder the depth of Christ's suffering and death; we will remember the cataclysmic nature of his sacrifice; and we will anticipate the joy of ultimate victory.
This service of darkness is not to dwell on the hopelessness of the dark, but rather to refocus our hearts afresh on the light that shines in the darkness that could not be overcome by darkness.
