The Future of Photography with Artificial Intelligence
Over the past decade the development of life-altering technological innovations has turned the art of photography on its head. The popularity of social media and the ubiquitous use of smartphones changed much for an industry that began in the early 1800’s with the introduction of the humble camera.
Today, another evolution is taking shape. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the very essence of photography and is certainly on the mind of every photographer. Its rapid rise is being embraced as a marvel for making post-processing easier and enhancing creativity, while causing confusion, controversy and, for some, panic about where it is all leading. Questions about how to define a photograph, how to navigate growing ethical and legal concerns, and what it will mean for professionals are just a few of the issues photographers are grappling with today.
Join Callanwolde Fine Arts Center and the Southeastern Photographic Society of Atlanta for a presentation and lively panel discussion where photographers will take a deeper look into whether AI represents a real evolution or the death of an industry. Presenters will also lead a Q&A session.
The Southeastern Photographic Society (SPS) is a registered non-profit Atlanta-based community of photographers established in 1976 to help members learn the skills for creating great images and sharing them with others. Through Monthly Meetings featuring Photographer Presentations, Member Exhibitions, and Technical Learnshops, members advance their enthusiasm for photography and sharpen their technical and creative skills.
“The Transformative Power of Light”, SPS’s current show is on display in Callanwolde’s main gallery and will be open for viewing. This program is part of Atlanta Celebrates Photography.
