The Springfield Art Museum is pleased to invite the public to the official groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 1 of its transformative renovation and expansion project. This event will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Springfield Art Museum auditorium at 1111 E. Brookside Drive in Springfield, MO.The Museum is planning a unique and creative indoor “groundbreaking” that will feature remarks from Missouri Senator Lincoln Hough, Springfield Mayor Ken McClure, and Museum Director Nick Nelson starting at 11:15 a.m., followed by a reception and light lunch in the Museum lobby from 11:45 – 12:30 p.m.
The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, overseeing Phase 1, will be available for a meet-and-greet during the reception, offering insights and answering construction-related questions in the lobby.
The Museum groundbreaking is free and open to the public. The event is underwritten in part with support from SMC Packaging and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.
