Join us for an exciting day out at our Spring Wild Food Identification and Foraging Foray event.
This interactive event is perfect for anyone interested in Wild food & foraging, novice to beginner.
You will learn how to identify different wild foods, their unique characteristics and give you the skills you will need to start in the world of foraging.
Limited to small groups only.
Join James during the Spring to see what wild food is available, the various uses they might have and the dangerous lookalikes to watch out for.
James is extremely passionate and has a number of years of foraging experience, he forages for mushrooms and plants almost every day.
No person under 18 and no dogs please, if you wish to arrange a private event with your children please contact us.
Come prepared with weather appropriate clothes, water, a snack and walking boots or similar.
This event will go ahead rain or shine, in the event there is extreme weather conditions which is a threat to life the event will be cancelled and attendees will be notified via email.
The route will take place in Horsham park, Chesworth Farm and Denne Hill over 3 1/2 hours.
Please arrive at the band stand in Horsham park (outside Kaya in the Park) for 10:00 for an introduction and safety briefing, we will be looking to leave around 10:15 and we should be returning back to to the town for around 13:30 but it can run over.
ACCESSIBILITY - Attendees need to be physically fit as there is a couple of hills involved some uneven areas and possibly plenty of mud.
We believe that everyone should have access to nature so if you feel like you may not be able to complete the route please contact us to see how we can help.
PLEASE NOTE: WHEN FORAGING FOR WILD FOOD ON YOUR OWN YOU MUST LEARN TO IDENTIFY THEM PROPERLY BY IDENTIFYING ALL KEY FEATURES BY USING A NUMBER OF RESOURCES.
