It's about time for the turkeys to strut their stuff so we'll go to Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center to see if the turkeys are in their full spring breeding splendor. Stage has a wild resident flock of turkeys that is fairly reliable for seeing male displays and hearing their characteristic gobbling. We'll also look for early spring migrants. Past species for this park in early April have included Winter Wren, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Brown Creepers, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, and Eastern Phoebes. Anything is possible.
No park pass is needed, but Stage does accept voluntary donations. Stage has a smaller parking lot, so carpooling is recommended when possible to avoid crowding the lot.
Trip size is limited, contact the leader to sign up.
