WHEN: January 24, 2026
7-8pm: Free Drop-in Beginner Swing Class (no partner or experience needed!)
8-10:30pm: Free Band Social Dance (featuring Jeremiah St. John)
WHERE: Courtyard Café (1st Floor of Illini Union), 1401 W Green St, Urbana IL
WHO: Both students AND community members attend our events and are very welcome!
COST: Free! (suggested donation of $5-15 for community members)
RAFFLE: Each attendee is given 1 free raffle ticket at the door (more tickets available for purchase). Three prizes are available, and drawing will take place during the dance. Must be present to win.
FAQ:
Do I need a partner?
NO! In class we will rotate partners so you'll get to know new people and make friends. During the social dance we ask each other for a dance.
What kind of shoes?
There are no special shoes needed. Consider comfortable shoes that you won't slip out of. If the ground outside is wet, we ask that you bring an indoor pair of shoes to protect the floor from moisture and salt.
