A Midsummer Night’s Dream
The Contemporary Theater Company is holding open auditions for our Spring and Summer productions of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)[revised] [again] (May 2 - 24), Noises Off (June 20 - July 26), and Shakespeare on the Saugatucket: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (July 6 - August 3).
If you are auditioning for A Midsummer Night’s Dream please prepare a 1-minute monologue from any Shakespeare play. If you are auditioning for Noises Off please prepare a 1-minute comedic contemporary monologue. If you are auditioning for The Complete Works of William Shakespeare please prepare a 1-minute comedic contemporary monologue and a few lines of Shakespeare verse. If you are auditioning for two or more shows, prepare either Shakespeare or both!
Please email [email protected] to sign up and indicate your preferred date and time frame. All adult actors in these productions will receive a stipend. No youth roles available at this time.

Our 3 actors will perform, in their full (abridged) glory, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare and have you home in time for bed! With silliness and Shakespeare Easter eggs abound, this show is perfect for anyone who loves the Bard or anyone who wishes he would just hurry it up!Fridays and Saturdays at 7 pm, May 2 - May 24, Thursday, May 22 at 7 pm

The ultimate farce, Noises Off follows the hilarious process of a play (and its actors) fall apart from a confused late-night rehearsal to the backstage backstabbing during previews to a disastrous performance where everything that can go wrong does. It's hard to say whether the drama is greater on-stage or backstage, but we guarantee the laughs will be in the audience! Fridays and Saturdays, June 20 - July 26, 7 pm
