A Seasonal Immersion in Earth-Based Herbalism
Spring is the season of reawakening.
After months of stillness, the earth begins to soften. Energy stirs beneath the surface. What has been resting underground starts to rise. This Spring Herbal Intensive is a three-month, seasonal immersion designed to support that same process within the body, the land, and your own inner rhythms.
It is a slow, intentional return to movement, vitality, and relationship with the plants.
From March through May, we will explore herbalism through a vitalist, energetic, and earth-based lens, honoring plants as whole, living beings and learning how to work with them in alignment with the season.
The Herbal Approach
This intensive weaves together traditions that honor the intelligence of both plants and people.
We will work with vitalist herbalism, recognizing the plant as a whole being and supporting the body’s innate wisdom. Traditional Chinese Medicine seasonal principles guide our understanding of spring, including the Wood element and liver–gallbladder energetics. We will explore herbal energetics, learning how plants warm, cool, moisten, dry, move, and ground the body, alongside astrology and the elemental and planetary correspondences of plants.
This is herbalism rooted in relationship, listening, and lived experience, not protocols or prescriptions.
Seasonal Focus: Spring Reawakening
Spring is a time of circulation, release, and renewal.
From a TCM perspective, this season supports the movement of Qi and blood, clearing stagnation and restoring flow. Energetically, spring invites us to shed winter heaviness, awaken vitality, and reconnect with direction and purpose. Astrologically, this season carries the energy of initiation followed by grounding, fire awakening life and earth stabilizing growth.
Our work mirrors this natural progression, moving gently from clearing to nourishment to integration.
Program Flow
We begin on Sunday, March 8, with an outdoor walk or hike to mark the seasonal shift and set intentions for the journey ahead. This opening gathering grounds the work in the body and the land before moving into monthly teachings.
Each month includes a live Zoom herbal teaching paired with guided meditation, offering both education and embodied integration. The intensive also includes two in-person, hands-on herbal workshops where learning comes alive through direct plant connection, preparation, and shared community experience.
Monthly Plant Focus
Each month centers around one primary herbal ally, allowing time to build relationship, understanding, and embodied experience.
March focuses on cleavers, supporting lymphatic flow, gentle detoxification, and awakening movement after winter stagnation.
April centers on nettles, offering deep nourishment, mineral support, blood building, and renewed vitality as the body strengthens.
May highlights dandelion, working with both root and leaf to support liver and digestive function, detoxification with strength, and integration as we prepare for summer expansion.
Additional plants will be introduced throughout the program, but these three herbs anchor our seasonal journey.
