About this Event
Spring is here, and Stomping Ground is rolling out a brand new workshop series to help you spring forward as an improviser and performer!
Each week, one of our instructors will dig into a topic or skill of their choosing! Students will refresh their improvisational toolbelt and add new tools to make their scenes both memorable and engaging for an audience. This class is recommended for students with some improv experience. The prerequisite for these workshops is Level Three Improv at Stomping Ground or the equivalent at another training center with permission from the Training Center Director.
This week's topic is Dealing with Denial in Scenes
What do you do when your scene partner says “no” to your base reality? How can you find firm ground for your scene when there’s no agreement to who, what, or where you even are? This week’s Spring Forward drop-in class will focus on strategies for handling denial in scenes, from the hardest (“You’re not my dad!”) to the softest (“Sorry, I’m not the manager.”) Students will practice how to say yes, even when their scene partner is saying no, and to knock even the wildest curveball out of the park!
This one session drop-in class is held Sunday, March 16th from 6-8:30pm The instructor is Jeremy Duchin. Price of class does not include Eventbrite's service fee (3.7% + $1.79) and payment processing fee (2.9%) which will be added to the total price at checkout. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older.
