May is such a wonderful time of year to forage for tender wild herbaceous plants and edible fungi. During this 3-hour class we will forage on 70 acres of beautiful privately owned land in the Inner Bluegrass region of Kentucky along the Salt River. The foray will last roughly 2 hours and the last 30-60 minutes will be spent sampling our findings (bring lawn chairs). During this time, I'll cover key identification characteristics in the wild edibles that we harvested and will close with a brief lecture on foraging sustainably, plant ecology and recipes. Space for this class is limited to 30 individuals. *For people who purchase the workshop admission and a copy of my "Foraging Kentucky" book, note that the books will be handed out in-person at the end of the workshop event.
