Join us for a day of angling excitement as we cast our lines and reel in the biggest catches of the season. With prizes for various age categories and plenty of fun. Bring your fishing gear, gather your friends and family, and make lasting memories at our Spring Fishing Derby! Don't miss out on this reel-y great event!Fishing will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 11 a.m. Any fish caught outside of that time frame will not be weighed and recorded. Winners of each age group will be announced at 11:15 a.m. and prizes will be awarded.
Age groups:
*6-8
*9-12
*13-15
A fish must be caught by the contestant to be weighed and recorded. Any fish caught by a parent/guardian will not be recorded. Fishing gear will not be provided.
The fishing derby will take place at the "twin ponds" area in Mohawk Park. These ponds are part of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation's Close to Home fishing program. To get to the "twin ponds" area, turn right onto Cherokee Drive just past the entrance buildings and follow the road until you see the "Close to Home" fishing signs.
Please note: entry into Mohawk Park is $2 per car between 9 a.m.-5 p.m..
