DJ Wreckordz
Wreckordz bought his first pair of belt drive Technics turntables and a refurbished Realistic mixer from Radio Shack way back in the winter of 1995 in Barrie Ontario in grade 12 and while being a current member of his band at the time Surf Camp Rejects in which he played rhythm guitar. (wreckordz also plays the drums, bass guitar and the piano) Going to raves in Toronto in 96 and 97 he would watch the performing DJ's to figure out the techniques they used to try and copy them to further his own mixing and scratching skills. Moving to Victoria BC in the summer of 97 Wreckordz soon started playing local parties and gigs around town and up island. Upgrading to proper Technics 1200 turntables in 1999 was a real step up in perfecting his mixing and scratching skills. Over the years he's had local weekly residencies and has also played shows in Seattle, Cultus Lake, Vancouver, and Nanaimo to name a few cities and opening up for such names as Dieselboy, Jon Bishop, Bad Company, Born on Road, and DJ Dan.
Wreckordz started a radio show called The Wherehouse in the winter of 2014 which is still currently on air on the local Victoria BC station CFUV 101.9 fm airing on saturday nights at ten pm pst and winning the award in 2020 from NCRA for the best pop, electronic, or dance music show.
