About this Event
The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is delighted to present two new exhibitions this spring.
The Main Gallery will feature, “The Art of Ezra Tucker,” a tour produced by David J. Wagner, L.L.C. Ezra Tucker is an acclaimed wildlife artist with more recent focus on the historic Black experience in the American West.
“The Art of Ezra Tucker” consists of 40 paintings produced by the artist from 1985 through 2023. Tucker’s wildlife art is characterized by its dynamic composition, unexpected color, lighting, and scale. Its large scale gives a sense of dignity and presence to each creature, making the subjects seem alive and ready to step out of two dimensions into a three-dimensional world.
In the Cole Gallery, the Pearl will present “HEARD” by Houston native Tramaine Townsend. A versatile visual artist, Townsend’s recent works capture the history and legacy of Black cowboys.
Through his work, Townsend explores minimalism focused on calculated production and thoughtful design. His approach relies on simple, direct imagery that resonates through its clarity.
“The Art of Ezra Tucker” will be on exhibit through March 22, 2025, while “HEARD,” runs through May 10, 2025. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated to help support the work of the museum.
Located at 6815 Cypresswood Drive in Spring, TX, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, visit pearlmfa.org.
