Join us for a fun-filled morning of nature journaling & zine-making with nature enthusiast and illustrator, Zabby Allen, as part of the Heart of Kent Walking Festival 2025!

All ages welcome. No dogs, sorry!
Parking available at Lockmeadow, where the walk will end, or at various locations across Maidstone Town Centre.
Bring a sketchbook and some pens or pencils to draw with, if you have them. Materials will be provided on the day for anybody who needs them.
Toilets and refreshments available at the end of the walk.
Walk Details
Together we'll learn to see the heart of Maidstone differently; learning about plants, trees, birds and more. We’ll celebrate the Spring Equinox by looking for some classic spring blooms, connect to our senses and learn some nature facts. You'll have the option to capture notes, doodles and sketches as we go, or just enjoy the journey!
After our nature walk, we'll settle in Lockmeadow, where we can journal, sketch and chat some more. Zabby will show you how to make a mini zine from one sheet of paper, which you can fill in however you like, or use your own journal. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your favourite notebook and pens, pencils or paints too!
About
Zabby is a nature enthusiast based in Maidstone. She is the chairperson of Wild South London, a London National Park City Ranger and runs a newsletter called Nature Notice Board, which introduces people to a new thing to notice in nature each week. Zabby loves to draw, paint, read and make books and zines outside of her job as a freelance designer/editor, so she's passionate about helping you unleash your creativity through nature journaling.
