EPHEMERAL: something that lasts for a very short time,specifically: a plant that grows, flowers, and dies in a few days
This group chapter hike will be like a scavenger hike in the woods uncovering the early signs of spring! We all need this encouragement after the cold weather plunge, so plan to join us and find the JOY awaiting as the days grow longer.
THE HIKE: 7.5-miles, out-and-back hike on natural surface & short dirt road walk; can be shortened by turning back, but please let hike leader know if you leave the group.

PARKING, START & END LOCATION: M179 Trailhead located on the north side of M179 (Chief Noonday Rd), and .75 mile west of Yankee Springs Rd, Middleville; 42°38'19.7"N 85°27'16.3"W; or locate on Avenza Map app at MI 1036.25
TURN AROUND POINT: Peets Rd at Avenza Map location MI 1032.5
Turn back as desired. Advise the hike leader when leaving group
POST HIKE GATHERING: Yankee Bill’s Woodfired Salloon, 606 South Whitmore Rd., Hastings, MI 49058
These miles can be counted in the NCTA Hike 100 Challenge 2025, and the Chief Noonday Chapter’s 3 County Challenge. Both challenges award an annual patch.
This guided group hike is FREE and open to all interested humans and leashed canines.
