You are warmly invited to join Marie and Pam for a gentle and nourishing Spring Awakening Mini Retreat.
This evening is a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and tend to yourself and your wellbeing as we move out of the darker months and into the lighter energy of Spring. There is nothing to achieve and no pressure to be any particular way. Just space to soften, to listen, and to reconnect with yourself.
Spring is a time of renewal and gentle awakening. Together, we’ll support the body and nervous system through mindful movement, rest, and sound, allowing energy to begin flowing more freely again after the stillness of Winter.

Join Marie and Pam for a gentle journey of awakening into Spring.
Beginning with a Qigong Flow (mindful movement) with Pam to loosen out the Winter tightness with a focus on the Liver and Gallbladder Meridians, the organs of Spring detox. Gentle tapping and meridian activation to clear stagnant energy and a breathwork practice and meditation to energise and lighten the body and mind.
We’ll then settle into some long floor-based stretches (Yin Yoga) to continue opening and awakening the mindbody and then we’ll sink into a long savasana guided relaxation to integrate the energy work.
There is no expectation at all to join in with all of the movement. It will be gentle and accessible to all but sometimes we just need permission to just pause, rest and listen. Resting and listening to the instructions is still participating. Allow yourself to vision the movement in your mind and your energy will still shift.
After the energy activation, movement and rest practices, Marie will hold the space through sound bathing, creating a nurturing sonic landscape that supports deep relaxation, energetic balance, and gentle integration. Together, the sounds and frequencies offer a sanctuary for your nervous system to unwind, allowing the stresses of the week to soften and dissolve.
When you make your health and wellbeing a priority, even for just a few hours, it creates space for something to soften. This mini retreat is about giving yourself time. Time to slow down, move gently, rest deeply, and be supported. Through mindful movement, breath, stillness, and sound, you’re invited to ease out of tension and reconnect with yourself in a simple, natural way.
You’ll be welcomed into Soul Sanctuary Sunderland, a space created for community, connection, and feeling safe enough to just be. It’s a sanctuary where you can arrive exactly as you are, without expectation or judgement. As you step inside, you’re invited to leave the outside world at the door and allow yourself this time.
Pillows, blankets, yoga mats, and eye masks are all provided for your comfort. Just bring water and a willingness to give yourself this space.
To keep the experience calm, supportive, and personal, spaces are limited.

What to expect:
Once everyone is settled into the space, you will be offered a herbal tea to enjoy while we tell you a little bit about what to expect from your Spring Awakening Wellbeing Journey.

As the evening unfolds, we flow into a deeply relaxing sound bath, where the healing frequencies of crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, and gongs wash gently over you. These resonant vibrations support your nervous system to soften, helping your body unwind and your mind become still, while offering space to integrate and anchor the shifts from your mindful movement and QiGong journey.
The vibrations of sound ripple through your entire being, gently melting tension and opening space for clarity, alignment, and renewal. When the journey comes to a close, you will be gently guided back into waking awareness, followed by time for stillness, integration, and quiet reflection before re-entering the world.
Mindful Movement, Energy Activation and Sound Therapy work on many levels... mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Practices such as QiGong, breathwork, meditation, meridian activation, yin, and savasana have been shown to calm the nervous system, improve energy flow, reduce stress and inflammation, enhance emotional regulation, and support overall mind-body balance. These gentle yet powerful modalities encourage deep relaxation, increased body awareness, and a shift from survival states into rest, repair, and presence The frequencies and harmonic resonance of sound therapy instruments help guide the brain into deeper states of rest (Theta) and can help release energetic blockages, dissolve heavy emotions, support inner balance, and deepen your connection to your higher self.
Many people leave feeling lighter, more centred, and in a profound state of calm and alignment, as if their energy has been gently restored.
This is more than relaxation, it’s an invitation to journey inward, awaken your senses, and align with your natural resonance. Step into this nurturing space and allow the magic of mindful movement, brethwork, meditation, sound and vibration to guide you to a place of peace, clarity, and renewal.

What to Bring:
A yoga mat, pillow, bolster pillow, cosy blanket and eye pillow will all be provided for your comfort. You may also wish to bring
- A sealed water bottle to stay hydrated
- Wear warm, comfortable layers
- You can also bring your own mat and blankets if you wish for extra comfort and warmth

Contraindications:
Sound therapy is a gentle and low-risk holistic practice, however there are a few contraindications that mean it may not be suitable to attend. These include:
- This session is not suitable for individuals with severe mental health conditions, including schizophrenia or unmanaged bipolar disorder, and attendance is not permitted in these cases.
- Pregnancy in the first trimester - please consult with your GP
- Having a pacemaker or serious heart condition
- Sound-induced epilepsy

Important Information:
- Please arrive around 15 minutes early to settle in for a 4pm start.
- This session is for people ages 18 and over due to the stillness and sensitivity of the experience.
- As spaces are limited, refunds aren’t available, however if more than 72 hours notice is given - you can transfer your ticket to a future event. If less than 72 hours notice is given, you’re welcome to gift or transfer your ticket to a friend if you’re unable to join us.
