About this Event
This course equips participants with the skills and knowledge required to serve as tax preparers under the IRS VITA program. Learners will undergo comprehensive training, focusing on tax preparation for low to moderate income (LMI) community members. You will learn:
- The current tax laws
- Privacy measures for tax preparers and clients
- The Taxpayer Bill of Rights
- How to prepare and intake client taxes
- The proper procedures put in place by the IRS for preparing taxes.
The course will run from 1/11/25 - 1/25/25 on Saturdays from 11:00am-12:40pm. This will take place on three Saturdays (11/23/2024, 12/7/2024, and 12/14/2024). There may be a Zoom session to replace the last Saturday session. Additional information will be given at the start of class.
These classes will be held IN-PERSON at the InnoHub in the Center for Advanced Technology building on the Prince George's Community College Largo Campus. You will want to park in Lot H or G.
