Alabama State University’s Department of Theatre & Dance will host its annual Spring Dance Concert From February 27 to March 1, 2025, 7 p.m. nightly at ASU’s Leila Barlow Theatre.Carl Orff’s spectacular Carmina Burana ballet is the centerpiece of the 2025 Spring Concert. Based on 13th-century songs and poems, Orff’s iconic cantata will be performed for the first time by ASU’s BFA Dance Program, making history as the first known HBCU performance of Carmina Burana and the first ballet production of its kind featuring an all-Black cast.
Tickets are $12 general admission, $10 for a group of 10 or more and $6 for ASU students. Tickets can be purchased online at ticketreturn.com and at the Box Office an hour prior to the show.
This project is made possible by grants from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, as part of Alabama State University’s BFA Dance Community Series.
