Lunch, a jar of local honey, and a beginner's binder included!
Learn about what it takes to become a beekeeper by attending the Spring 2025 Beginner Beekeeper’s Short Course. If you want to pollinate your crops and garden, harvest your own honey, or are just interested in learning about beekeeping, this interactive class is for you. Participants will gain an understanding of the steps and processes involved in keeping honey bees, work with an active hive during the course, and take home a jar of local honey!
The course will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 from 9am-3:30pm at the UF/IFAS Clay County Extension Office. Doors open at 8:30am!

Preregistration is required by February 24th. There is a $30.00 individual registration fee or $55.00 per couple for in-person tickets. To register with cash or check, please contact Cassidy at the extension office. Lunch is included!
We also want participants to be aware that for the hive demonstration portion, we have veils and gloves to lend, however, you are welcome to bring your own equipment.
