Watagan Pony Club- Working Equitation Training ClinicSunday 10th November ber 2024 from 8.30am- 12.30pm
Come along for a fantastic morning of learning some of the many obstacles of Working Equitation (WEQ) with an experienced Coach and Judge. Learn the art of this exciting sport, moving around the course, testing the training of the horse. WEQ also shows the riders ability to control the paces and display empathy and trust between the combination.
We aim to build confidence of both horse and rider and develop capability of the combination. Most of all, it's really fun!
Some of the obstacles will include "Switch Cup", "Side Step" an easy "Bridge", "Jug/ Billycan", "Aussie Pick up", "Single Slalom", "Jump", "Stock Pen", "Two Barrels", "Double Slalom", "Bull", "Three Barrels" and more.
Arrive at 8.30am for an unmounted Gear Check at 9am in the Show-jump Arena. We will commence the training soon after and ride til 10.30am. A 30 minute break for morning tea will be followed by a 2nd session riding until around 1.00pm. BYO all you need for your horse and rider, including plenty of cool drinks, snacks, biscuit of hay and water bucket, folding chair, sunscreen, your 2024 attendance card and please wear your CLUB POLO and SADDLECLOTH. Beige Jodhpurs are preferred by Watagan PC.
There will be a maximum number of 12 riders, rotating in 3 groups of 4 through the course learning each skill. Once everyone has learned the obstacles, we then ride the whole course individually, to music. No experience in WEQ required- this is a training day not a comp, so the emphasis is on fun!. If these WEQ Training days take off, Watagan PC may offer small comps in the future.
Interested? Then enter now! The entry fee is to cover travel expenses of the Judge and Ground fee hire. Watagan PC Members enjoy a discounted entry fee to all the training days on offer. We also accept current adult riding members and PCA Centre Riders (who do not own their own horse- conditions apply).
