• Samantha Dunn’s essay, “So Far from Paris or Santa Fe,” which recounts a fraught prom experience in 1980s Las Vegas, New Mexico.
• Jason Asenap (Comanche/Muscogee) will read from his profile of Dylan McLaughlin (Diné), whose video and performance pieces engage deeply with environmental concerns.
• Christian Waguespack, head of curatorial affairs and curator of 20th century art at the New Mexico Museum of Art, will offer insights into the exhibition "Out West: Gay and Lesbian Artists in the Southwest, 1900-1969," which is featured in the summer issue by writer Robin Babb.
Following the readings, editor of El Palacio, Emily Withnall, will facilitate a Q & A. Light refreshments will be served.
