The Spreckels Organ Society presents The Phantom of the Opera in Concert with soprano Laynee Dell and tenor Cole Tornberg. The 45-minute concert version of Phantom of the Opera will include spectacular organ solos by San Diego Civic Organist Raul Prieto Ramirez.
The program – free and open to the public – includes state-of-the-art spooky projections on the front of the Pavilion by SonderEyes providing a unique Halloween visual experience that complements the music. Guests are also encouraged to come dressed in costume and take a photo on stage with the artists after the concert.
Recognized for her shimmering voice and charismatic stage presence Nebraska native Laynee Dell has quickly established herself as an artist in demand. She made her San Diego Opera debut in One Amazing Night with the San Diego Symphony and most recently headlined Songs in the Key of Love. A Core Chorus Soprano with San Diego Opera she will be featured in the company’s 2025/2026 productions of Pagliacci and Carmen. Her operatic roles include the title role in Lakmé Olympia Queen of the Night Birdie Sofia and Zerlina. A frequent competition winner Dell has received First Prize in both the Virginia & Susan Hawk Vocal Competition and the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus Young Artist Competition as well as the Musical Merit Trovillo/Graham Award.
Cole Tornberg is a classically trained vocalist currently singing with both the San Diego Opera Chorus and the San Diego Symphony Chorus lending his voice to large-scale productions and concert works that showcase their versatility and vocal strength. With experience spanning opera oratorio and contemporary repertoire Tornberg is known for his rich tone musical sensitivity and professional stage presence. His work reflects a passion for collaboration and a deep commitment to the craft of vocal performance. Whether performing in grand concert halls or intimate recital settings Tornberg connects with audiences through authentic expression and refined musicality.
