The Spot Whiskeys
Mitchell & Son traditionally marked their whiskeys with a daub or ‘spot’ of paint to indicate how long the barrels would be matured; blue for 7 years, green for 10, yellow for 12, and red for 15. This tradition gave rise to the name Spot Whiskey.
