On Saturday, September 13th, it’s time to root for the underdog when the Mahoning Drive-In Theater presents a comedy SPORTS SLOBTACULAR that breaks all the rules, featuring two classic 1970s underdog sports sagas, THE BAD NEWS BEARS (1976) and SLAP SHOT (1977)!What better way to celebrate summer than with two salutes to entertainingly unsportsmanlike conduct from the freewheeling 1970s that take children’s sports and Canada’s favorite pastime to new lows of rule-breaking and new highs of laughs?

Walter Matthau is a boozy, busted former pitcher who sees a nice payday in coaching a team of the worst players little league has to offer, but with a (beer) canny eye for talent, adds a female pitcher and local dirtbike tough to the team, resulting in an unforgettable season of scrapes, swears, swings, and scores!
