This Sports First Aid course follows the HSE guidelines and has been tailored to meet the needs of any therapist. It is the minimum required for professional membership of the Sports Therapy Association, Sports Massage Association and the Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage. On successful completion of this one‑day course the student will receive a Certificate of Attendance.Course content
Aims and legal responsibilities
First Aid planning and your First Aid kit
Assessment of the unconscious or non-breathing casualty
CPR and the treatment of head and spinal injuries
Immediate management of:
Seizures
Bleeding and shock
Fainting
The course will be mainly practical so that students get first-hand experience of dealing with simulated injuries in a safe environment.
