Sports Creative Community LA Meetup

Join us Tuesday, October 7 from 6–10 PM at TPC Event and Production Space in Los Angeles for a night with fellow sports creatives.

We’re bringing back the SCC meetup to LA for an evening of connection, creativity, and community with sports industry pros. Whether you’re a designer, videographer, content creator, or social media expert, this is your chance to meet new faces, share ideas, and build your network.

The Sports Creative Community (SCC) was founded in 2018 by Matt Desmond to bridge the gap for creatives in sports. What began as a Slack channel has grown into a nonprofit organization of more than 8,600 members worldwide, a place where designers, videographers, social media managers, and storytellers connect, share, and grow together.

Through meetups, panels, and online collaboration, SCC provides a space to learn, give back, and build lasting relationships in the industry. SCC continues to evolve while staying true to its culture of connection and support.

EVENT CODE OF CONDUCT:

To participate in an SCC-sponsored event, all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers must be 21+ and agree to abide by this code of conduct. SCC reserves the exclusive right to enforce its code of conduct.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:

Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants.

Act with respect towards everyone you encounter, including event and venue staff.

Behave in accordance with professional standards (such as this Code of Conduct, your respective employer’s policies, and applicable law).

UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR:

Illegal activity

Any form of harassment, bullying, intimidation, and/or insinuations that are hurtful or interfere with any other attendee’s experience

Deliberately using the wrong pronoun to refer to an individual

Unwelcome sexual attention, including sexualized comments or jokes, inappropriate touching, groping, or sexual advances.

Sustained disruption, including during talks and presentations.

Violence, threats of violence, or violent language

SCC reserves the right in its sole discretion to determine what constitutes unacceptable behavior and what actions it will take to address incidents that occur.

CONSEQUENCES OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR:

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated at SCC-sponsored events. Anyone asked by a SCC staff member or affiliate to stop engaging in unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior or fails to comply with expected behavior at any time during the sponsored event, SCC may take any action it deems appropriate, including but not limited to removing the participant from the event, contacting venue staff, and local authorities if required.

PHOTO & VIDEO NOTICE:By entering a Sports Creative Community (SCC) event, you are entering an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur.

Your entry and presence on the premises constitutes your consent to be photographed, filmed, and/or recorded and to the release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction of any and all media of your appearance, voice, and name for any purpose in connection with SCC and its initiatives—including, by way of example, use on websites, social media, marketing materials, and press coverage.

By attending, you waive and release any claims related to the use of such media, including any right to inspect or approve the content, and any claims for invasion of privacy, right of publicity, defamation, or copyright infringement.

All photography and recording will be conducted in reliance on this consent. If you do not agree, please do not attend the event.
