About this Event
About the Programme
Sports are more than just training your body. Athletes train their minds too! Find out what Singaporean Olympian and world champion Max Maeder loves reading in between his kitefoiling matches. Let’s go on a fun reading adventure with Max and his mother Hwee Keng, who has been supportive of his sporting journey and beyond.
Take your favourite book along to tell them all about it! Be sure to ask away if you have questions about sports or reading—Max and his mother are game for anything.
This session is suitable for children, teens and families. Bring your hats/caps or cards for an autograph session. Or put your best smile forward for that wefie!
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the programme to allow time for attendance taking. Latecomers will not be allowed entry and their seats will be released to those on the waitlist/walk-ins.
About the Speakers
Maximillian Maeder is an Olympic bronze medallist in the sport of Formula Kite. Max was introduced to kiteboarding by his father when he was six and by the age of 11, he set himself a target of being world champion. The driven teenager did just that five years later in 2023 and more. He is currently the Asian, World and European champion.
Hwee Keng Maeder sits on the board of Wakatobi Dive Resort, an eco-tourism resort in Sulawesi, Indonesia, where Max grew up. She and her husband Valentin Maeder believe in raising children who are independent thinkers. Max is the oldest of her three children.
