Welcome to Sport for Good New Orleans Townhall!
Laureus USA’s Sport for Good New Orleans has been working with the Pincus Family Foundation to finalize an exciting opportunity since our Growing in the Game event in April 2024!
Starting pre-pandemic, SfG New Orleans has been working to launch a project in partnership with schools. Even with delays due to the pandemic, members of our network stepped up and pushed for an initiative that builds healthy collaborations and reaches more young people in the city of New Orleans.
In May 2023, we resumed by hosting our first in-person Townhall since the pandemic and many of you, including school leaders, non-profit organizations, government representatives, and more expressed interest in designing a long-term project that would support building greater access to sport in schools for young people and invite increased collaboration.
With that being said, we have finally arrived at the partnership phase. The Pincus Family Foundation has provided seed funding to launch our project. We will host small Thought Partnership sessions leading into Townhalls over the 2024- 25 school calendar year. Beloved Community will be our supporting partner as we evolve launch this project.
We are really excited to launch this project and want to have your voice and expertise included in this project as Laureus USA's Sport for Good New Orleans reimagines the role of grantmaking in New Orleans to impact more young people.
