Bring in those spoon tools and let’s get carving! Learn the fundamentals that lead to the satisfaction of making objects that can then be used daily in this 10-hour weekend workshop at The Historic Daniel Boone Home. The weekend course covers selecting and preparing wood that makes for good, useful spoons. Participants are taught knife grips, proper safety techniques, the use of hook knives, and sharpening techniques. Wood for carving is provided. Participants must bring their own carving tools and a means for sharpening, like waterstones, diamond plates, sandpaper, etc. A list of recommended tools and sharpening equipment is sent after registration. This workshop is for ages 18 and up. Cost is $80 per person; pre-registration is required.
