About this Event
Are you a Glen-walker with a love of the place?
What makes this place special?
Is it the nature you find here?
Are you a local with memories of the Glen River Park in any of its former identities?
A new resident who has just discovered the wonders of our neighbourhood park?
Are you keen to find out more about its mysteries?
Would you like to hear other people’s stories about the park?
Spoon and Bloom are offering a free workshop that celebrates our connections with the Glen sharing stories and following up with an in depth look at the botanical world beneath our feet with ecologist, botanist and herbalist Jo Goodyear.
Together with you we would like to explore, discover more, and map out how the biodiversity of the Glen River Park enhances our lives and provides an environment for a myriad of other life forms in the heart of our neighbourhood. We would like to invite you to join us in our Glen mapping project, where we can come together to celebrate our connection with the park through drawing, writing, remembering, mapping and chatting and sharing our stories. The workshop is free, and open to all and all materials will be provided.
In the second part of the workshop Jo Goodyear will bring us on a nature walk around the park, following up on the leads we have identified in our maps. Jo will flesh out our understanding of the park with her expert knowledge on the plants that survive and thrive here and uncovering more stories in the process.
Please come and explore with us.
Spoon and Bloom have been commissioned to create an animation about the Glen Park. We are currently collecting stories of the park, if you have some you would like to share please email: [email protected]
