_____________
Hailing from the Bay Area, Patrick Donahue is a poet and musician who has been a resident of Nevada City for 12 years. Writing and performing in various projects including being an original member of the 16th and Mission poetry scene in San Francisco, still happening after 20 plus years. Currently playing his guitar and throat singing to his original music under the name of Sun Dog.
Kirsten Casey is the current Nevada County Poet Laureate, and has been an active California Poet in the Schools for almost 20 years. Kirsten is also the host of Nevada County Library’s monthly “Poetry Happy Hour,” a free, low pressure opportunity to appreciate and write poems (on the third Thursday of
every month at the Communal Cafe.) Her first poetry collection, Ex Vivo: Out of the Living Body, was published by Hip Pocket Press in 2012. Her new manuscript, Grieving Birds, was a recent finalist for the Gunpowder Press Dryden-Vreeland book prize. To read more of her work, and find her upcoming events, visit her website: kirstencasey.com.
Stacey Anderson is a prism of facets and loose threads, all the pieces of which have coalesced and woven into a tender human being who loves storytelling. She loves listening to stories as much as she loves telling them. Raised in the cauldron of the slow-paced island time of the Low country islands on the edge of South Carolina and Georgia, she learned a lot by listening to the old timers tell stories. In 2011 she returned to her birthplace in southern California and has been in California ever since. Determined to find a community that felt like home, she eventually found her way to Nevada County in 2018, home of the glorious Sierra Storytelling Festival. She is a teacher, naturalist, scientist, writer, permaculture enthusiast, homemaker, adventurer, and surfer.
