It’s a spooktacular time of year to be in the woods. The last of the fireflies may be seen flickering, hibernators are preparing for winter. The leaves are still on the trees, but this won't last - change is afoot! What else might be afoot in the woods? We’ll hike to an overlook in time to catch the sunset as we hear some spooky stories about the history of Halloween and the natural world.What to Expect: This is a 2.7-mile, easy hike on the Blue Loop and Overlook trails. The Blue Loop Trail is mostly flat, and the Overlook Trail (out and back) has slight elevation change. We will be hiking back from the overlook in the dark, so please bring a headlamp or flashlight. This event is for ages 10 and up (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
What to Bring: Bring water, insect repellent, snacks, pertinent personal first aid, a headlamp or flashlight, and a camera (optional). Wear shoes that can get wet and dress for the weather. Hiking poles are recommended but not required. There is no restroom onsite.

Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.
Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation for severe weather made at the time of the event. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email when possible and refunded.
