What is Spookwood you ask? Well, it’s a fun free night of a scary haunted house Coal Miner Day Society. A kid friendly un-haunted house as well as trunk or treating hosted by the businesses in our area. We also encourage participants to warm up by the fire pits and buy food and other things from our local stores within the plaza. The focus for our event continues to be about building community spirit, lending a helping hand, and getting involved all while showcasing Sparwood. Scary Spook Alley is in the USW Building, a No Scary Fun House in the Staying Alive First Aid Building, a Pumpkin Contest as well as Trunk or Treating are in Centennial Plaza. (People bring in their pre-carved pumpkin and the community votes on the favorites.) Spookwood brings the families of Sparwood and surrounding communities to a safe and fun environment to enjoy our Centennial Plaza as well as promote local businesses.
