SPOOK: PROM NIGHT
Christchurch’s queer Halloween party is happening again! Hosted by Booteek, and The Rambler for 2025, we’re taking you to the gymnasium dance floor for PROM NIGHT—corsages, crowns, and a little bit of carnage.
Expect glitter, horror, and some of Ōtautahi’s best on the decks. Come dressed to slay: tux or tiara, jock or cheerleader, wallflower or final girl. However you show up, the dance floor is yours. Come dressed to die!
SPOOK is an intersectional queer event - a space for the rainbow / takatāpui community and their allies to come dance, have fun, and party.

Donna Lee
Ōtautahi’s dirty little slut with a pure heart. Donna Lee’s one mission in life is to bring the groove. As the founder and sole follower of the Slut Disco movement, Donna Lee will be bringing their innovation to the SPOOK dance floor. Fast-paced, booty-shaking deliciousness will be taking over your body. This will be the Prom Night of your dreams - we’re all losing our v-plates!!!!
Kate.Land
Kate.Land is a Takatāpui nightlife advocate based in Ōtautahi. Their music taste is deeply influenced by the rich histories of radical community activism and queer club culture. Above all, they are driven by the transformative power of soulful music to promote positive social change.
Cathy
Cathy seems like just another name on an office email chain, a modest, cat-loving, spreadsheet-wielding professional. But by night, she transforms into a darkwave sorceress, weaving haunting New Wave with relentless Techno. Bringing back corporate goth, one synth stab at a time.
WAEWAEXPRESS
WAEWAEXPRESS (Poutini Ngāi Tahu) is a passionate Māori DJ and Broadcaster based in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. Her genre fluid sets echo the oro of her upbringing, as well as exploring the latest sounds in Global Club, Techno, World, Breakbeat, Bass and beyond.
