In one fabulous day, Kerr Grabowski will teach you enough about simple screen-printing to print in your home or studio. Color, texture and spontaneity is the focus: silk screens, fabric, textile paints and a sense of play are the tools.Using textile paints, fabric and easily removable stencils such as cut and torn paper and wax rubbings, we will create mono-prints, repeats, color and overlays. Discover the amazing variety of marks and textures possible with a screen and simple stencils.
While we will be printing on fabric, the process is applicable to paper as well.
No drawing or printing experience is required.
9-12 Phase one
12-1 Lunch (students may bring their own lunch or chip in $10 for Tom's Pizza)
1-4 Phase two
Cost: $200 workshop fee
$25 material fee*
Misc: Wear clothes you don't care about
Optional: bring small 4 oz, empty, recycled containers (e.g. yogurt or applesauce)
*All materials are provided with the fee including screens, squeegees and textile paints
