About this Event
"Do no fear mistakes--there are none." -- Miles Davis
Top Hat Supply for Journeys is excited to welcome two classically trained instrumentalists, Dan Hochman and Matt Siffert, to inspire us to embrace the improvisational spirit within.
Check your phone at the door and take in the latest work by local artist, Carol Ann Wachter. After a short talk about the power of improvisation in creatitivy, Dan and Matt will take us on a journey through dissonance and resonance in unrehearsed musical collaboration. Eye masks are provided for those who want an even more intentional focus on the music.
After their 30 minute collaboration there will be a short discussion and opportunity for Q&A where we can collectively learn from each others' experience in how improv can create something special creatively.
Please arrive at 8:00pm. We will have tea and sparkling water available (BYOB also welcome). The brief talk will begin at 8:30 and music will start promptly at 8:45; we will not be able to accommodate those arriving late. People are invited to stay after the event to enjoy the evening. Seating is first come first serve. We will ask that all technology is silenced and there will be no talking during the performance.
