Tryst Judo Club is raising money to support Ezra, the son of Akin and brother of Zachariah, both members of the club, who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). DMD is a rare genetic disease that affects 1 in 3500-5000 males, causing progressive muscle wasting and impacting various organs, including the heart and respiratory muscles. Boys with DMD typically lose the ability to walk and may require a wheelchair by age 8-12, eventually losing the use of their arms by their teens. Unfortunately, DMD is 100% fatal, and there is currently no cure.
